I want to be able to set goals

People think about goals, talk about goals, worry about goals and wish they could not only set goals but achieve them.

Have you ever asked yourself any of the following:

  • How do I get my ambition and drive back?
  • How do I set goals?
  • How do I reach my goals?
  • Why am I not able to achieve my goals?
  • How do I make my dreams true?

These questions can be debilitating and for many there is a lot of stress around looking at goals. There is an expectation that if you want to be successful then you MUST have goals. Is that true?

Is it about goal setting or goal getting?

Some people find the word itself terrifying – full of unfulfilled demands for success.

So what if you just thought about what you really wanted, REALLY wanted in your business or personal life.

  • What are your ambitions?
  • What are your dreams?
  • What are your aspirations?

The real trick about setting and achieving goals is to be clear about what you really want.

Not what you think you should want, or what you think others feel you should want, but what you REALLY want.

The next step is to get emotionally involved in that thought.

  • Why do you want it?
  • What will that get for you when you have achieved it?
  • How will you feel when you have reached your goal?

Sounds simple? Of course, but many of the things that are so amazing in life are essentially simple. We choose to complicate them with our own negative thought processes, limiting beliefs and self-doubt.

The most important thing however, is your own mental attitude to deserving the goals you are setting.

We can help with that too. Once you realise you can have what you really want, the rest is easy. Remove those old limiting beliefs around what you believe you can have and achieve and the success that seems to have been eluding you will be yours.
